After taking a big, brave, bold step last week by putting my first chapter of my novel on Facebook it seems like this may have got me an agent!
A friend who read it and loves it just happens to have a friend who is a book editor - great, I thought, pass it on and I'll get some help with structuring. Little did I know that this editor is branching out into agency as well. How synchronistic. Golly.
Well, I get told by my friend that her friend may take a week or so to get back to me as she is crazy busy. Cool, I thought. The next day, yes the next day. My friend facebooks me that her friend LOVES it and wants to read the whole thing AND wants to represent me.
I cannot describe how it felt. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't stop buzzing - didn't want to stop buzzing. It was so intense. And was exactly like the movie I'd seen about the life of JK Rowling. 'I've got am agent! I've got an agent!' playing over and over in my head.
So to cut a long story short for the past few days I've been in an editing frenzy. Getting the manuscript in a reasonably professional form. And a big shout out to Paul Manning who was the first to call with congratulations. You are such a sweetie and a great blogger. Check him out - an inspiration.
Oh and I've lost a pound!!
One woman's quest for total transformation. The journey to becoming a successful writer and a fitter person. Hopefully.

15 mile Night walk
Oh yeah! Have signed up with my BFF Molly-Mole to do another 15 mile Night walk along the Torquay coast line. We completed the Moonwalk in 2009 in London - a whole 26 miles - so this should feel like a walk in the park in comparison. It's in aid of Rowcroft Hospice which is a local hospice where a friend of mine has died a couple of years ago so I feel like it's for a really good cause plus Molly and I get to lose some weight and get fitter. WIN WIN! It's called the Rowcroft Sleep Walk.
It always feels like I have to have a goal when attempting any fitness regime - I suppose that is normal! So we're starting with a tiny 3 miler on Friday to ease ourselves in gently ;-) Will keep you posted.

What do you think?
Do you think there is such a thing as a eureka moment?
That moment that brings to the forefront what we have been trying to avoid, or not see, or wanting to hide. But how can we hide anything from ourselves really?
We can close our eyes to the truth, but we cannot keep our eyes closed forever. Now I'm not talking about any religious experience - good god NO! And in some ways maybe we cannot truly see a eureka moment for what it is until time has passed and we see the fruits of that moment.
So what the hell am I talking about?? Good question!
On Sunday, I was confronted by a video of myself - I have avoided such things like a vampire avoids garlic. But there it was on Facebook for all the world to see and me also. YUK! It was a massive kick up the butt. MASSIVE! I looked huge and as I wasn't even aware I was being filmed my posture and mannerisms were all the more pertinent and real.
So here I am again - but I'm somewhere entirely new this time. I'm not dieting in the same old way. I'm eating what I want when I'm hungry and that is it. Fitting in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Paul McKenna is helping me with his programming iphone app, in which he gives loads of advice and actual exercises that help with cravings etc.Watch the clip it's inspiring.
So I have tools at hand and I'm ready to continue my journey, this time for the final time.
